Shakuntalam, an NGO established in 2003, constantly strives to support and empower individuals, particularly underprivileged children enabling them to meet basic ambitions of their life. We help them realize their potential to make informed choices and facilitate new possibilities and opportunities for them. With the focus on education, healthcare and civic rights, the NGO aspires to be a platform instrumental in changing lives and aspirations of people coming from extenuating background. Individuals suffering from any critical diseases are provided support for their health; specific cases are also taken for rehabilitation wherein they are given vocational/entrepreneurship training, counseling and provision for aids and appliances.
Shakuntalam is a Non-Profit, Non-Government organisation created under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The entity is registered under Section 80 G (v) and 12AA of the Income Tax Act.
Aims and Objectives:
Engender employment opportunities by providing formal & informal education on various aspects of life, accentuate the importance of healthy lifestyle and create self-employment opportunities for children in the slums and weaker sections of the society thereby making them self-reliant, economically and socially.
